Virginia Jones

Up

My name is Kal-olet-za Virginia Jones.  My parents are Joseph and Carol Jones.  My grandparents are George Jones Jr., Florence McKay, Walt and Virginia Steinbach.
I grew up only knowing a few words in the Lushootseed language.  I began learning in the year 2000 from Toby Langen at the Tulalip Heritage School.  I have been learning the language ever since then.
I was employed by the Tulalip Tribes in 2004 as a language teaching assistant.  I am now teaching at the Tulalip Elementary School. I teach a Kindergarten and first grade class. I also teach the classrooms at Tulalip E.c.e.a.p.
